Metinvest plans to invest a record amount to modernize the Kametstal plant.

In 2025, mining and metallurgical group Metinvest will invest over ₴2.5B ($60M) in upgrading the Kametstal plant, established at the facilities of the Dnipro Metallurgical Combine in the Dnipropetrovsk region. It is noted that during these challenging wartime conditions, Kametstal and other enterprises of the Metinvest group have continued their systematic efforts to enhance reliability and efficiency of production in construction and reconstruction.

“This year, a record budget of $59.8M is being allocated to Kametstal, with a significant portion aimed at supporting and updating its main production equipment – an investment that serves as a springboard for further development and modernization of the enterprise. In total, we plan to implement 114 investment projects of varying importance throughout the year,” according to a statement from the Kametstal enterprise.

Among the modernization’s key items are the overhaul of blast furnace No. 9 – which accounts for nearly 33% of the investment, a pilot project for constructing an alternative power plant using solar panels, and modernization of energy infrastructure.
