Metal production in Ukraine decreased by a third.

In the nine full months of 2022, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises produced only a third of the previous year’s production volume, Ukrmetalurgprom reported. During the January-September period, Ukraine’s metallurgical industry produced 5.46 million tons of pig iron, which is 33.8% of the total from January-September last year, when production reached 16.15 million tons. The volume of steel produced during this period was 5.53 million tons compared to 16.29 million tons in 2021, or 33.9%. Only 32.7% of last year’s volume of rolled steel was produced: 4.73 million tons against 14.49 million tons.
