Last year, Ukraine lost 6.6 million mobile subscribers.

The number of active SIM cards in the mobile communication network in Ukraine at the end of 2022 amounted to 49.3 million, almost 12%, or 6.6 million, less than a year ago.

Revenues from the provision of mobile services amounted to UAH 56.2M. As stated in the regulator’s report, this is due to the full-scale war, the unavailability of mobile communication networks in the occupied territories of Ukraine, and the reduction in the use of national operator services resulting from migration abroad.

At the same time, the number of users of international roaming services with Ukrainian SIM cards has increased. In the pre-war months, their total number did not exceed two million subscribers per month, and only in the peak of March 2022 did the number increase by 2.5 times and reached the mark of five million subscribers per month.

As a result, revenues from international roaming amounted to UAH 2.9B, which is 2.4 times higher than in 2021.
