Kyiv says the grain agreement has been extended for 120 days, but Russia says for 60.
Ukraine’s government informed observers of a 120-day extension of the grain initiative agreement. Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov noted that this means that Ukraine will be able to continue to export its agricultural products through three deep seaports.
However, increasing the pace of inspections in Turkey remains a challenge. In addition, work continues on including the Mykolaiv region ports into the initiative and expanding the range of cargo. The UN announced the extension of the grain agreement but did not specify for what period.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a similar statement without specifying the terms. The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, confirmed the extension of the initiative, but only for 60 days rather than for 120.
