The United States embassy continues to insist that the introduction of a no-fly zone over Ukraine will not stop Russia’s aggression. “You know that for the US or other NATO allies to confront the Russian military head-on would probably escalate the situation, not de-escalate it,” said Kvein. The chargé d’affaires noted the US attempts to defuse the situation at this time. Together with other allies, the Americans are looking for a creative approach that could help find a useful solution for Ukraine’s defense.
