Kovalska Group plans to buy 50 to 100 railcars annually.

Industrial and construction group Kovalska intends to purchase between 50 to 100 cars annually starting in 2023, said CEO Sergey Pilipenko. The company has already ordered the design documentation to develop the original cars from the Kryukov railcars manufacturer and Belarusian manufacturers. The company attributes the need to expand its car fleet due to the low efficiency of State Ukrainian Railways (UZ). In the second half of 2021, the Kovalska group experienced disruptions in operations due to a shortage of UZ locomotives. As a result, the turnaround time for railcars increased by 2-3 times.
