Deputy Mayor Sergei Zakharov told the city news site “Mariupol.’ Israel’s Iron Dome intercepts short range rockets fired from less than 70 km. By rocket, Mariupol International Airport is 20 km west of the frontlines. Occasionally used for military flights, the airport with its 2.5 km asphalt runway was closed in June 2014 to commercial aircraft.
