Industrial inflation in Ukraine hits 40%, with food products seeing an 18% price increase.

In February 2025, wholesale prices for industrial producers rose by 37% compared to February of the previous year. Domestic prices surged by 40%, while export prices increased by 15.9%, according to the State Statistics Service. Prices for food products, beverages, and tobacco rose by 20.2% (domestic – 18%, export – 29.1%).

The greatest price increase was in dairy product production, which rose by 21.2% (within Ukraine: +21.4%). In bread, bakery, and flour product production, prices went up by 15.8% (+16.4%). Meat production saw a price rise of 10.2% (+12%). Beverage producers increased their prices by 8.5% (+8.6%). However, sugar producer prices decreased by 1.5%, rising 0.4% domestically. Wholesale producer prices are passed on to retail prices with a several-month delay.

In March, food prices in Ukraine increased, with the only product showing a noticeable decrease being wheat flour (-16%). Conversely, vegetables experienced the most significant price hikes, particularly tomatoes (+39% for the month) and carrots (+30%).
