In six months, Ukraine exported $19.5B of goods; volumes increased, but sales have yet to.

Ukrainian exports for six months of the year amounted to $19.5B and are identical to the figure for the first half of 2023. Physical export volumes increased by 35% and totaled 71 million tons. However, during the year, there has been a significant correlation between prices for primary export goods. The volume of exports in weight increased significantly, and the turnover remains stable, said the trade representative of Ukraine, Taras Kachka.

He also noted that, against the background of the completion of the export of last year’s harvest, exports in June amounted to $2.7B in money and 9.7 million tons in weight.

“This is a significant reduction compared to May: by 18.4% in money and by 20.2% in volumes,” Kachka noted.

Imports in June were also lower by 5.6% and amounted to $4.8B. In the first half of the year, Ukraine imported goods worth $31.9B, which is 4.9% more than in the first half of last year.
