In July, Ukraine earned UAH 0.5B from electricity exports to the EU.
State company Ukrenergo auctioned access to interstate power grids at cross-border crossings with Romania and Slovakia for UAH 500M ($13M) in the first 27 days of electricity export to the EU, reported the company. The EU’s electricity price is several times higher than in Ukraine. Currently, Ukrenergo is auctioning all the available capacity of crossings with Romania and Slovakia – 100 MW. The weighted average daily price of access to interstate power grids at the crossings with Romania and Slovakia for 24 days was UAH 7,700/MW. At the same time, the highest weighted average price was on July 26 – UAH 14,600/MW. Currently, Ukraine can export electricity to Romania, Slovakia, and Hungary. Ukrainian electricity is also exported to Poland (210 MW) and Moldova (600 MW). The volume of Ukrainian electricity exports to Europe will gradually expand.
