Germany will help Ukraine prepare for negotiations to join the EU.

According to Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany, Oleksiy Makeev, in the matter of Ukraine’s EU membership, Germany is acting out of its own interest. Representatives from Berlin began to turn to the Ukrainian side with offers to assist in implementing certain recommendations. They are ready to meet with partners to direct Kyiv in reforms.

In addition, German politicians will provide systematic assistance to Ukrainian government officials in preparing for the negotiation process and will talk about how to conduct negotiations.

“This is a huge part of the work that will drag on for years”, the diplomat added. Makeev claims that the chancellor of Germany is personally determined that Ukraine become a member of the EU and has been urging German businesses to invest in Ukraine.
