For the first time, a green auction will be held in Ukraine to stimulate renewable energy development.
For the first time in Ukraine, state-owned enterprise Guaranteed Buyer has announced an online auction on October 31 to distribute support quotas for enterprises producing electricity using alternative sources.
It is noted that the first lot is an additional annual support quota to produce 11 MW of electricity from solar radiation. According to the bidding conditions, the station should be located on the left bank of the Dnipro, except for the temporarily occupied territories and the zone of active hostilities. The auction will be held to reduce the cost of green electricity produced by market participants for consumers. The maximum size of the price offer is €0.09 per 1 kWh.
According to the distribution of additional support quotas, 11 MW will fall to SPPs, 88 MW to wind turbines, and 11 MW to other types (biomass, biogas, small hydroelectric power plants). This instrument will give investors long-term guaranteed support, allowing them to attract credit resources in order to create jobs and new generating capacities.
