Five ports in the Baltic States are ready to participate in Ukrainian grain exports.

The Baltic countries are prepared to provide the capacity of five large ports in their territories to participate in the safe export of Ukrainian grain to global markets, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis.

The countries have officially appealed to the European Commission to employ the Baltic Way to solve the problems that arose after Russia refused to continue the Black Sea Grain Initiative. The Baltic countries have five ports that can safely transport a much larger amount of Ukrainian grain.

“We officially propose that the European Commission help us to increase the railway capacity for the Baltic route,” the Lithuanian government official wrote.
