Eurocontrol stated that the sky over Ukraine will remain closed until 2029, but Ukraerorukh has a different opinion.
Eurocontrol predicts that restrictions on civil aviation flights in Ukraine, the Russian Federation, and Belarus airspace may remain in place until 2029.
The organization’s report also notes that Europe’s aviation industry continues to recover following the COVID-19 pandemic, but the Russian invasion of Ukraine is also hurting the industry. The organization recorded a 90% decrease in flights in Ukraine.
Ukraine closed its airspace to civilian aircraft on February 24. At the same time, Ukraerorukh emphasized that Ukrainian airspace will be opened immediately after the end of hostilities and Ukraine’s victory.
The air navigation services provider explained that the published Eurocontrol forecast is based on the current situation in the aviation industry and will be revised.
