EU officials visited Kyiv during the Independence Day holiday to discuss cooperation and aid.

In Kyiv, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal discussed the restoration of Ukraine’s infrastructure with Portugal’s president. The parties talked about rehabilitation of Ukrainian soldiers and humanitarian demining with the leader of the Presidium of Bosnia and Herzegovina. With the prime minister of Finland, the head of the Ukrainian government raised the issue of the heating season, assistance for the energy system, and Ukraine’s restoration.

Shmyhal discussed logistics and cooperation at the border with his Moldovan colleague. The issues of energy and support of small and medium-sized businesses were discussed with the Prime Minister of Norway. They addressed the intensification of trade and economic cooperation, future reconstruction, and global food security with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey.

According to the Prime Minister, Ukraine is counting on the speedy finalization of all required procedures for inclusion in the EU Free Trade Agreement. He also discussed with EU politicians the provision of military aid, Ukraine’s European integration aspirations, sanctions policy, and financial support.
