With the number of new Covid-19 rising sharply again, Ukraine seems headed for new quarantine restrictions and possibly even a new lockdown. This would be another setback to hopes of getting economic recovery underway. It’s, therefore, all the more vital that the new session of parliament which opens on September 7 is able to keep the country on the reform track, adopt a sensible state budget for 2022, and avoid paralysis because of political infighting. The country cannot afford to lose any more time.
