President Zelensky’s team has been working hard to push forward reforms and upgrades at Ukrzaliznytsia. Investment in rolling stock including the purchase of new trains, and the production of freight and passenger cars. The elephant in the room is the outstanding lawsuit between the US investor, VR Capital Group, and Ukrzaliznytsia which has not been resolved. VR Capital is endeavoring to recover its investment for more than 2 years, and has been stymied at every step. In the interest of supporting investor rights, the Zelensky Administration should illustrate to the local and international investment community that investor rights are protected in Ukraine. Otherwise, the country’s ability to attract investors in the privatization of assets will not be successful. Best Regards, UBN Editorial Team.
