DTEK is developing new wind farms with a capacity of 1,150 MW and has invested ₴4B in repairing thermal power plants.

DTEK’s CEO, Maksym Timchenko, said: “We are currently building onshore wind farms with a capacity of 500 MW – there are no such projects of this scale in Europe. We are also preparing a project in the Poltava region with a capacity of 650 MW.”

He explained that green energy is beneficial not only for addressing climate issues but also for energy security. “After the attacks on thermal power plants, we see that solar and wind plants are more resistant to threats, so their role in energy security is critically important”, the top manager emphasized.

In the first half of 2025, DTEK Energy invested around ₴4B in repairing and restoring thermal power plants damaged during attacks by the Russian Federation, which is more than the ₴3.6B that was invested in all of 2024. During the ongoing repair efforts a significant amount of work has already been completed, though much remains to be done this year and next. Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Russia has launched 205 strikes on DTEK TPPs.
