Canada will supply drones and announces new training for the Ukrainian military.
According to the National Post, discussions have concluded regarding the supply of Canadian drones, which Ukraine has called the only product on the market that meets all its operational needs. The publication recalled that last summer, the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuliya Svyridenko, sent a letter to the Ministers of Defense and Finance of Canada requesting 300 Teledyne Flir R70 Skyranger drones. The transfer of drones and training for the Ukrainian military will cost Canada approximately $115M. In addition, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced new tactical medical training for the Ukrainian army and continued training for engineers as part of Operation UNIFIER, which will continue at least until the fall. Trudeau added that Canada will also allocate $3M for demining in Ukraine.
