Britain is providing Ukraine with additional self-guided missiles, and Germany is one step closer to transferring long-range weapons.
Defense Minister Grant Shapps said the British government has prepared 200 Brimstone self-guided missiles for Ukraine’s armed forces.
“These missiles have previously had a significant impact on the battlefield, forcing Russian troops to abandon their intentions and retreat when attempting to cross the river,” Shapps said.
He also announced that Britain, together with its allies, plans to train 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers in the first half of 2024.
In addition, the German Bundestag supported a proposal prepared by the ruling parties on armaments for Ukraine, which, among other things, includes a call to provide long-range missile systems to Kyiv. The approved document states that the parliamentary factions of the coalition favor supplying Ukraine with “additional necessary long-range weapon systems and ammunition.”
However, Taurus cruise missiles are not directly mentioned in the proposal.
