Belgium provides €200M to the Czech munition initiative, and Britain allows Ukraine to use the Storm Shadow at its discretion.

Belgium will allocate €200M to the Czech Republic’s initiative to quickly deliver hundreds of thousands of artillery shells to Ukraine, Belgian PM Alexander De Croo said. He specified that more ammunition will arrive in Ukraine in the coming weeks.

As a reminder, since Europe has not fulfilled its promise to send a million artillery shells to Ukraine by March, the Czech Republic is considering looking for supplies outside the EU. This initiative has already been supported by 15 countries: Canada has provided $23M, and the Netherlands more than €100M.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of the UK, in response to comments regarding Britain and France’s possible limitations on the use of long-range missiles, said that the way Kyiv uses cruise missiles transferred by other countries is “a matter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.” Finland is also not against Ukraine using the weapons it is provided in Russian territory.
