ATB plans to expand its network to 5,000 stores while investing in energy independence.

ATB Corporation, Ukraine’s largest grocery retailer, aims to increase its footprint to 5,000 stores, which is 250% more than its current network of 1,300 stores. In 2025, the corporation intends to acquire about 100 stores and open 80 new ones. For comparison, Lidl, a leading European discounter, currently operates a network of 12,000 stores across 33 countries worldwide.
Last year, ATB opened 47 markets, and another 11 underwent renovations. The corporation’s revenue last year totaled ₴208.9B ($5B), with investment in each store reaching approximately $2.5M. ATB is currently expanding into communities with populations of 10,000 residents and is actively implementing its expertise by placing stores outside urban areas.
Notably, through its use of solar panels the retailer saves roughly ₴1.5M ($36,000) in energy costs annually at each location. A solar power system at one location generates 50 kW daily, while the market consumes 39 kW, allowing ATB to donate the surplus to the network at no cost. ATB has been installing solar panels since 2024 and has already purchased panels with a total generating capacity of 20 MW.
