Antonov demonstrated the next generation of its military transport aircraft, An-178-100R

for certification tests. An-178-100R is a new generation aircraft that can transport personnel, deliver weapons, and light military equipment by landing and parachute methods, and transport cargo. The aircraft is designed to carry up to 100 people, people in need of medical evacuation (40 people on standard ambulance stretchers, 38 people inside seats accompanied by four paramedics), and up to 86 paratroopers. The General Director of Antonov, Serhiy Bychkov said “this is the first aircraft of this generation in a constructive, ergonomic, managerial plan created in the post-Soviet space”.
