After meeting with Zelenskyy, Biden announced a $375M military aid package.
According to the US Department of Defense, the new aid includes additional ammunition for the US-provided HIMARS systems, artillery shells, anti-tank weapons, and critical auxiliary equipment worth up to $375M, compatible with that which Ukraine uses on the battlefield.
The new package includes: additional munitions for HIMARS systems, 155-mm and 105-mm artillery shells, TOW anti-tank guided missiles, Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank complexes, laser-guided missile systems munitions, explosive munitions, bridge systems, armored medical vehicles, heavy equipment trucks and trailers, logistic support equipment, thermal imaging systems, spare parts, and other field equipment.
Zelenskyy thanked the US for its significant security assistance to Ukraine, which has already exceeded $37B, and for the new package. In addition, the leaders discussed further cooperation to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
