According to survey results, almost every third Ukrainian (26%) who left for Germany because of the war would like to stay and live in that country permanently. Nearly one in ten (11%) plans to remain in Germany for only a few years. More than a third of respondents (34%) will return to Ukraine immediately after the end of the war. And only 2% of Ukrainians said they would go to their homeland within a year. The other 27% of survey participants have not yet decided on their future plans. According to data from the Central Register of Foreigners, updated in November, 1.025 million Ukrainians have been registered in Germany since the war.
