A Ukrainian furniture supplier for international retailer JYSK is investing in production automation ahead of an €80M deal.

Furniture manufacturer Accord-Import has invested over €1M in production automation over the past two years. The company is currently constructing a new €13M robotic factory in Khmelnytskyi. This new factory will produce up to 800,000 square meters of cabinet furniture per month – 100% more than the company’s existing factory. The production facility will employ 140 people, which is 50% fewer than in the company’s original factory in Khmelnytskyi.

Seven robotic stations have already been installed, and two more are planned. Each robotic station costs up to €115,000. The robots pack and assemble furniture and supply pallets for loading into trucks. The primary goal of this automation is to meet the increasing demand from international customers amid a critical staff shortage.

In 2024, Accord-Import shipped more than €32M worth of furniture to warehouses belonging to the international JYSK chain. They are preparing to sign a new €80M contract with JYSK in May. Last year, Accord-Import exported 96% of the furniture it produced, which amounted to over €43M, with 70% of sales going to JYSK.
