A Ukrainian developer will construct another glass factory in Kalush as part of a €135M investment project.

City One Development will build a glass factory in the city of Kalush, located in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The facility will produce transparent and architectural glass and be implemented within the Galicia industrial park. This will be the second production line, with the first already under construction in the Kyiv region, in the city of Berezan. Initially, it was projected that the plant would be operational by the end of 2024, but the launch has been postponed to 2027. The project’s cost stands at €135M, with a planned capacity of 600 tons of glass per day.

The company notes that the primary factor affecting the implementation schedule is the war. At the onset of the full-scale invasion, fighting occurred near the construction site in Berezan, complicating the project’s execution.

When selecting locations for the factories’ construction, the developer analyzed five regions of Ukraine, evaluating factors such as distance to sales markets in order to optimize logistics costs and access to energy sources, which is crucial for the energy-intensive production process.
