A Ukrainian company has invested UAH 20M in roof-mounted solar panels to replace 30% of its electrical consumption with green energy.

The city council reported that the Aurora Multimarket company has completed the first stage construction of a UAH 20M rooftop solar power plant on its distribution center in Vinnytsia, the city council reported.

A company representative said that the solar panels were installed for the company’s consumption and holds the possibility of selling surplus electricity. It is noted that the capacity of the first stage of the rooftop solar plant will be 350 kW, and the maximum capacity will be 850 kW during summer. Therefore, the distribution center will be able to replace 30% of its consumption with electricity from renewable sources.

In addition, the Vinnytsia administration partially compensates micro-entrepreneurs for the costs of purchasing autonomous power sources to from the budget of the Vinnytsia city-territorial community.
