A global building materials manufacturer has announced its readiness to buy two cement factories in Ukraine.

CRH Ukraine announced on the National Securities Commission website its intention to acquire a 99.9775% stake in the authorized capital of Dyckerhoff Cement Ukraine, which owns two cement factories in the Rivne and Mykolaiv regions.

Earlier, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine approved the deal on the condition that 25-28% of the company’s shares be transferred to an independent investor within nine months from the date of purchase. The EBRD is expected to become an investor, as in December 2023, CRH signed a mandate letter regarding the joint acquisition of the Italian company Buzzi’s assets in Ukraine, which has ownership.

CRH is an international group of companies with its headquarters in Ireland and is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of construction solutions and materials. In Ukraine, the company has worked under the CEMARK brand since 1999 and has invested about $500M. Since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion, CRH has invested $80M in Ukraine, including $34M in the construction of a cement terminal in the Kyiv region.
