A billion dollars’ worth of deals: Ukraine and Japan start a new chapter of economic cooperation geared for reconstruction.

At the first Ukraine-Japan Forum, focused on Ukraine’s economic recovery, representatives from both countries signed 29 agreements to initiate joint projects in agriculture, the food industry, infrastructure, construction, green industrial recovery, technology, and innovation.

Notably, the Japanese Fujita Corporation agreed with Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy to help strengthen the supply chain for chilled and frozen products, with plans to develop related infrastructure and distribution channels.

Additionally, the Ukrainian delegation met with leaders from various Japanese industry groups and companies. Japanese businesses are interested in investing hundreds of millions of dollars in Ukraine. The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) stated that companies are ready to build partnerships with Ukraine in critical infrastructure, energy, and technology sectors.

Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka reported that nearly $1B worth of agreements were signed between businesses during the forum in Japan.
