Retail development: Zhytomyr’s shopping mall is expanding and will become the largest in the region, while Kyiv’s Ocean Plaza is working to bring back Polish brands.

Zhytomyr’s Global UA shopping mall plans to add a second phase covering 19,590 square meters. With this expansion, the shopping center will become the largest in the area, totaling 142,000 square meters. The opening of the second phase is expected in 2026-2027. This phase will attract more tenants such as Auchan, Sinsay, Reserved, LC Waikiki, Comfy, Foxtrot, Jysk, McDonald’s, and KFC.

Meanwhile, Ocean Plaza in the capital of Ukraine is negotiating to bring back brands from the Polish group LPP (Reserved, Cropp, House), which had previously closed their stores in the mall. The shopping center has experienced some tenant withdrawals due to the country’s difficult economic situation. The vacancy rate at Ocean Plaza is approximately 12-13%.

As well, the Silpo supermarket chain is opening a renovated designer store in Odesa’s Simya shopping center. The store’s design features a marine theme and fluid art style.
