Investors put millions into Ukrainian breweries in the Khmelnytskyi and Ternopil regions.

Businessman Dmytro Oliynyk and his partners acquired a controlling stake in the Khmelnytskyi Regional Brewery. “We bought 78% of the shares. The buyer was Kostopil Glassworks,” he said. According to him, between 2025 and 2027 ₴250M ($6M) will be invested in the brewery’s development. Khmelpyva’s growth strategy involves focusing on the Khmelnytskyi region’s market, opening its own stores, and building the brand. Oliynyk explained that his decision to acquire the enterprise was driven by the synergy between the glass-making business and brewing.

Meanwhile, one of western Ukraine’s most well-known brewing companies, Opillia, is launching a large-scale expansion of its production facilities. By 2027, the company plans to increase its production capacity by 40%, with total investment already nearing ₴200M ($4.75M). A key part of their growth plan is launching a second plant in the Ternopil region, which will specialize in non-alcoholic products. Since 2012, the Opillia group has invested over ₴1B in its enterprises. The company can produce 6.5-7 million liters of beverages per month and is considering expanding its exports to the EU.
