Ukrainian businesses created over 22,000 jobs last year and raised salaries by 23%.

Large businesses with revenues of over ₴1B ($24M) increased the number of full-time employees by 22,200 in 2024, according to the results of a labor market study. It is noted that these enterprises employ a total of 1.6 million workers. The number of jobs is growing most actively in the following industries: trade, IT, the food industry, mechanical engineering, pharmaceutical production, and construction.

The emergence of new full-time employees is partly due to a change in the structure of employer-employee relationships, such as the transition of IT specialists to gig contracts. In addition, large companies increased salaries for full-time employees by an average of 23% last year. Companies that offer strong intangible benefits (development, atmosphere, stability) were able to retain employees without a significant increase in salaries.

It is also reported that Ukraine’s working population is aging: Every year the average age of full-time employees increases by 4-5 months. The average age of an employee is currently 37 years.
