The largest steel mill in Ukraine is seeking European partners for mining in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Mauro Longobardo, the CEO of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, the largest steel mill in Ukraine, stated during the  On the Road to URC 2025 event in Milan, “We urge potential Italian and other European partners to explore the opportunity to advance to the next level of collaboration by forming a joint venture to develop the mining industry in Kryvyi Rih, alongside our enterprise, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih. We possess resources, permits, equipment, technologies, and extensive knowledge and experience in the mining sector.”

He continued, “Operating under conditions of frequent power outages, air raids, and staffing shortages has made us stronger and more resilient. We maintain our optimism and hope to increase production volumes, and I am pleased that leading Italian suppliers of technology and equipment support us. In particular, we collaborate with DANIELI, Ekoplant, ATOMAT, CEBA, Schnell, TRE ALTAMIRA, and OLTEK.”

Longobardo also emphasized that the plant is prepared to play a significant role in Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction.
