Ukraine’s largest alternative electricity producer invests €300M in constructing a 200 MW wind farm.
Ukraine’s largest alternative electricity producer – Elementum Energy, owned by the international VR Capital Group, has launched a 200 MW wind farm project in western Ukraine. The power plant will be built an the intersection of the Lviv, Ternopil, and Rivne regions, and the project’s total investment is over €300M. The new wind farm is expected to generate about 700 GWh per year, which should be enough to provide electricity to about 600,000 people. Elementum Energy plans to begin constructing the facility within a year.
Also, a wind farm in Transcarpathia, which began operation at the beginning of this year and continues to be developed, has already produced one million kWh of electricity.
In Volyn, construction of a wind farm consisting of over 20 wind turbines is underway. In the Khmelnytskyi region, construction of one of two wind power plants with a capacity of two MW is being completed.
In 2022-2024, over 860 MW of new renewable energy capacity has been commissioned in Ukraine.
