Ukraine announces the construction of more than 800 MW of wind generation in 2025.
Energy Minister German Galushchenko noted: “There are corresponding plans for the construction of more than 800 MW of wind generation facilities.” He added that Ukraine’s Western partners show significant interest in wind generation, particularly the Norwegians, who are considering a large 300 MW wind farm project.
As for SPP, the Minister expects that household programs will be active next year because the state created this opportunity, and banks have united to provide interest-free loans for 10 years. However, he still considers wind energy development to be the most important element in the coming year.
According to Minister of Environment Svitlana Grynchuk, Ukraine’s task is to join forces with European partners to create an energy system independent of fossil fuels.
The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) predicts that by 2050 the share of renewable energy sources in electricity production in the Eastern Partnership countries, which includes Ukraine, should reach 32%.
