Investors from the EU are ready to build five waste processing plants in Prykarpattia for €150M.

The Minister of Environmental Protection, Ruslan Strilets, following the results of a meeting with German Ambassador to Ukraine Martin Jaeger and several investment companies, said: “I heard from investors a real willingness to invest in the development of waste processing infrastructure in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The cluster will comprise five plants, collectively processing more than 470,000 tons of waste annually. The cost of the project is more than €155M.”

It is noted that the investment companies that will potentially be engaged in the project have 45 years of experience in waste management and have participated in developing waste processing infrastructure in Austria, Turkey, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and Egypt.

“I am sure that the Ivano-Frankivsk region, Poltava region, Odesa region, Kyiv region, and Transcarpathia will become good examples for other regions, and they will follow this path. Ukraine will finally possess more than 200 new modern plants of the European model,” Strilets added.
