Ukraine must pay $25.2B to service debt this year.
The Ministry of Finance has preliminarily estimated that in 2024 Ukraine will have to pay more than ₴1T ($25.2B) as part of its repayment and servicing of state debt. As of May 1, the total amount of payments until the end of the current year for the internal and external state debt reaches about ₴1.1T.
Payments for domestic borrowing will amount to ₴589.24B by the end of the year: ₴384.95B – principal debt repayment, ₴204.29B – interest payments. The state’s internal debt is composed mainly of domestic government bonds (OVDP).
By the end of the year, the state must pay a total of ₴427.42B for external borrowings: ₴179.33B – payments against debt principal (the largest – MFI) and ₴248B – interest (the largest for commercial loans). External debt comprises commercial loans, loans provided by MFIs, and official loans from Ukrainian partners.
It should be noted that budget revenues for this year are planned in the amount of almost ₴1.8T.
