Poland refuses to build an oil pipeline from Ukraine.

In Poland, a decision has not yet been made regarding the possible construction of a pipeline for the transportation of edible oil from Jagodin, the Volyn region of Ukraine, to the port of Gdansk. The hesitation stems from doubts of a legal and technical nature, as well as the circumstances surrounding the flow of other agri-food products from Ukraine.

The government noted that in 2023, Polish and Ukrainian parties remained in discussions of detailed legal issues and regarding the technical feasibility of building a pipeline for the transportation of vegetable oil from Ukraine. However, because this type of investment has never been implemented in Poland, and most likely nowhere else in the world, there are many questions from both the Polish and Ukrainian sides.

The Ministers of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine and Poland signed the memorandum to explore the possibility of constructing a 600 km oil pipeline in 2022 during the Economic Forum in Karpacz.
