The US has announced a required list of reforms for the continuation of aid to Ukraine.
These reforms center around the introduction of supervisory boards at state-owned enterprises and strengthening the independence of the NABU and SAP.
“This list was provided as a basis for consultations with the government of Ukraine and key partners as part of our ongoing support for Ukraine and its efforts to integrate into Europe, a goal that the US strongly supports,” the US Embassy website says. It is noted that the goal is to define priorities and consolidate efforts to reform Ukraine.
As President Biden stated during a White House meeting with President Zelenskyy: “Just as we are committed to helping the Ukrainian people protect themselves now, we are also committed to helping them recover and rebuild for the future, including supporting reforms aimed at fighting corruption, creating an environment in which business can flourish, and American and European companies can invest”.
