The volume of non-performing loans in banks decreased by UAH 7B.
The share of non-performing loans (NPL) in the banking sector fell to 39.1% on June 1 compared to 39.3% at the beginning of May, reported the press service of National Bank. In May, the volume of non-performing loans decreased by UAH 7.1B and the total volume of the loan portfolio by UAH 13.2B.
NPL volume in the banking sector in the first quarter of this year increased by UAH 2B to UAH 434B. The share of non-performing loans on April 1 was 38.8% compared to 38.1% on January 1.
During 2022, the percentage of NPLs in Ukraine increased from 30% to 38%, their volume increased by UAH 87B to UAH 432B. A significant share of these NPLs were caused by the green energy crisis. The share of non-performing loans in the industry increased to 51% at the beginning of May compared to less than 3% before the invasion.
