Ukraine implemented one of the IMF’s structural beacons.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, signed a law on the use of funds from accounts designated for the support of Ukraine. The launch of this law became the second implemented structural beacon in the IMF program. The law provides for the distribution and spending of funds for the support of Ukraine according to clear budget rules within the budget programs of the special fund of the state budget.
It also introduces monthly reporting on the receipt and use of funds for each account opened at the National Bank and control over their use following budget legislation.
It is worth noting that since the beginning of the war, almost UAH 24B has been transferred from the NBU’s designated account for defense needs. The account has received almost the equivalent of UAH 25.5B since February 24, 2022.
