Anita Anand arrives in Kyiv to announce the provision of 200 Senator armored personnel carriers.

According to the Canadian government, Canada’s Minister of Defense Anita Anand is visiting Kyiv to announce the delivery of 200 Senator armored vehicles to Ukraine. This new military aid package is in response to a specific Ukrainian request for such equipment and was purchased from the Canadian company, Roshel. This aid package is valued at more than $90M and is provided as part of an additional $500M in military assistance to Ukraine, announced by Prime Minister Trudeau in November 2022. As part of her visit, Anand met with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, where the ministers discussed the upcoming Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine meeting scheduled for January 20 at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
