The World Bank will allocate $50M to purchase generators and boilers for Ukrainian grain elevators.

According to the Minister of Agricultural Policy, Mykola Solskyi, this money will be spent on a program under which all grain elevators will be able to buy new generators for up to UAH 5M or switch to liquefied gas boilers. Under this program, the cost of the generator or boiler will be partially compensated. Solskyi added that, in addition to the energy-saving program to support elevators, the World Bank has allocated $100M for the purchase of wheat and corn for countries in Asia and Africa in 2023. However, these funds will probably be redirected to another program because humanitarian grain is actively purchased under the Grain from Ukraine program.
