Ukraine plans to stop grain export to Syria.
Ukraine may block the export of its grain to Syria due to the country’s purchase of the harvest looted by the Russians, said the Minister of Agricultural Policy, Mykola Solsky. According to the minister, the Russian military continues to steal large amounts of grain from farmers in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. According to official data, they have already stolen 500,000 tons, but the real figure may be much higher. Solsky noted that farmers in the uncontrolled part of southern Ukraine have already collected several million tons of grain. The Ukrainian government continues to monitor suspicious shipments and inform the authorities of the countries to which these shipments are sent. Recently, a few Russian cargo ships with Ukrainian grain have been seen at Syrian seaports. However, the Syrian government did not heed Ukraine’s warning to stop accepting the stolen grain.
