The National Bank of Ukraine estimates Ukraine’s losses from destroyed housing, business, and infrastructure due to Russian aggression at 50% of 2021’s GDP, or $100B. In addition, this figure includes significant losses of human capital due to migration and death, said the central bank. Due to high uncertainty, most investment activity has been suspended. According to bank analysts, the economy most likely will need a very long period to recover from the effects of the war and will continue to require assistance from international partners. According to the central bank, since February 24, Ukraine has received about $7.4B in humanitarian aid. The total amount of assistance provided and announced by partners as of mid-June is about $30B.
