Ukraine lost $565B due to Russian military aggression.
The financial cost of losses suffered by Ukraine since the war began was announced by the Deputy Minister of Economics Yulia Svyridenko. “These figures will be growing every day, unfortunately. Despite all obstacles, Ukraine will seek to recover compensation from the aggressor. Remedies will be sought both by court decisions and by transferring to our state the frozen assets of the Russian Federation,” added Sviridenko.
Currently, the valuation of the destruction is as follows:
– $119B loss of infrastructure (almost 8 thousand km of roads destroyed and damaged, dozens of railway stations, airports);
– $112B decline in 2022 GDP;
– $90.5B in civilian property losses (10 million square meters of housing, 200,000 cars, 5 million people suffering food insecurity)
– $80B in loss of enterprises and organizations
– $54B in losses from direct investment in the Ukrainian economy
– $48B in losses to the state budget
