Ukrainian startup Promin Aerospace plans to launch its first suborbital flight.
Today, the company will test a solid-fuel engine for ultralight rockets and continues to make preparations for the first suborbital flight by the end of the year. According to the Founder, Mykhailo Rudominsky, engineers are currently finalizing the latest engine iterations. He added that the unique engine burns solid fuel rod to achieve flight. The design reduces the rocket’s mass and potentially increased the payload. These engines were created using propietery technology, and the mass of the rocket will range from 100 to 500 kg. The cost of launching into suborbital and low earth orbit is estimated at $200,000. The key customers may be international corporations, for whom Promin Aerospace plans to launch orbit telecommunications satellites and satellites surveying the Earth’s surface, reported ukrinform.
