The US is preparing a strategy for Ukraine’s victory.

The US wants Ukraine to win the war, said US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O’Brien. O’Brien anticipates that Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Pentagon head Lloyd Austin will soon present a corresponding plan to several congressional committees.

O’Brien also named the most important elements for Ukraine’s victory.

  1. Stabilization of the situation in the east of the country partly depends on sufficient artillery and other weapons systems and the construction of fortifications.
  2. Strengthening mobilization: Ukraine needs to ensure that it has the people it needs to continue its struggle.
  3. Destabilizing Russian firing positions to keep the Black Sea open.

In addition, O’Brien pointed to two important events in Ukraine’s foreign policy. The first is the beginning of negotiations with the EU on joining the union. The second is creating a clear path for Ukraine to join NATO.

“By the end of this year, if Ukraine fights with the provided weapons as well as it can, and if there is progress in two elements of global positioning (the EU and NATO), then Ukraine will be able to win,” the official said.
