The Ministry of Agrarian Policy summed up the results of the marketing year: The yield increased to a record level.

Taras Vysotskyi, the Head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, said that in terms of production volumes, the marketing year 2023/2024 showed a record yield.

He noted: “In 2023, the average grain yield was 55.2 centners per hectare. The previous best figure was in 2021 (53.9 centners per hectare). This record yield is thanks to the harvest of corn.”

According to him, within the season farmers will collect 60.5 million tons of grain and 22.5 million tons of oilseeds (83 million tons in total). In 2021, there were 108 million tons. Therefore, within the controlled territory, the harvest is at the level of 2021. About 51.5 million tons of grain and 19 million tons of oilseeds and processed products were exported.

Vysotskyi believes that in the future the agricultural sector should generate, although not record-high results, a positive financial result, thanks to a good harvest and cheaper logistics.
